About the role
This apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity within the IT team at the High Temperature Research Centre in Coventry. As an Apprentice IT Support Assistant, you will gain practical experience and develop your IT skills while supporting colleagues with a range of IT requirements. Duties include providing IT support to staff, students, and visitors, diagnosing and fixing IT faults, installing and moving IT equipment, processing orders, managing IT asset databases, and overseeing the disposal of IT equipment. You will also work with third-party contractors for hardware and software deployment. This role requires good communication, IT, problem-solving, and customer care skills. Upon completion, there may be opportunities to progress into an IT Support Technician role.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. Strong communication skills, IT skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, customer care skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, team working, and patience are essential.
