About the role

Steeton Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join their support staff team. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to assist children in their learning, participation, and overall development. You will work under the direction of the class teacher, supporting individuals and small groups with their educational activities. The role emphasizes building positive relationships with children, supporting their independence, and contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment. The apprenticeship includes a structured training program with a named mentor and regular feedback. As you progress, you will gain experience in supporting children with diverse needs, including those with SEND, disadvantaged backgrounds, and English as an additional language. You will also assist with routines, playtimes, and other school activities. This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a career in education, with potential progression to roles such as Higher Level Teaching Assistant or even Teacher.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent L2)
