About the role

This apprenticeship offers a Level 3 Teaching Assistant role at Millstead Primary School, focusing on supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, or autism. The apprentice will work towards the role of Additional Needs Support Assistant, contributing to curriculum planning, assisting in lesson delivery, adapting learning activities, and supporting the use of ICT. Key duties include providing individual and group support, explaining tasks, reinforcing concepts, and maintaining pupil engagement. The role also involves delivering short whole-class sessions, encouraging communication, promoting inclusion, and fostering independence. The apprentice will assist in lesson planning and delivery, monitor pupil progress, contribute to assessment, and support classroom management. Administrative tasks such as producing learning materials and managing coursework will also be part of the role. Collaboration with parents, carers, and external professionals is expected to support pupil development. Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English grade 4, strong communication skills, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, initiative, and a positive, friendly, caring, nurturing, and passionate attitude towards education.
