About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a Teaching Assistant specializing in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Springwood Heath Primary School in Liverpool. You will work closely with the class teacher, Headteacher, and Governing Body to create an inclusive learning environment for pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, or autism. The role involves supporting pupils to overcome learning barriers through tailored assistance, contributing to curriculum planning, assisting in lessons, adapting learning activities, and promoting the use of technology. You will provide individual and group support, encourage communication and participation, and foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem. Key duties include liaising with parents and external professionals, ensuring pupil safety and welfare, and completing administrative tasks. This is a Level 3 Apprenticeship, providing valuable experience for a career in education.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Essential skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, administrative, analytical, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, patient, and passionate about education.
