About the role

The Level 5 People Professional Apprenticeship with Discovery Educational Trust offers the chance to join the central HR team while gaining practical experience and working towards a recognised qualification. The role supports the HR, Operations and Governance team and suits a motivated, organised person interested in a career in HR.

Key duties include supporting the Director of HR with day-to-day HR activities, advising managers and employees on HR queries, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, maintaining employee records, supporting safer recruitment processes, assisting with payroll administration, monitoring probation periods, supporting absence management, preparing HR reports, assisting with employee relations cases, and supporting Ofsted inspections. The apprentice will also help managers understand HR policies and employment law, contribute to employee wellbeing initiatives, and use technology to improve HR processes. The role involves working closely with the central HR and Recruitment teams to ensure consistent processes and sharing good practice. The apprentice will also act as a first point of contact for HR and continue to develop their own HR knowledge.
