About the role

Join F. SMALES & SON (FISH MERCHANTS) LIMITED as a Sales and Business Development Apprentice and contribute to the company's commercial growth. You will gain hands-on experience in customer engagement, sales, and marketing. Your responsibilities will include contacting existing customers, building relationships, identifying new prospects, supporting the sales team, and managing customer enquiries. You'll learn consultative sales techniques, assist with retention initiatives, and contribute to business development activities. The role also involves monitoring sales activity, developing commercial awareness, learning about seafood products, and supporting market research. You will also create engaging content for social media and company websites, produce photography and video content, and support promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress into a permanent role within sales, business development, account management, key account management or commercial operations, with ongoing training and development available to support a long-term career in sales.
