IT Support Technician Apprentice

About the role

This IT Support Technician Apprenticeship at the University of Oxford offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment. As an apprentice, you will be the first point of contact for IT service tickets and queries, handling issues related to computer hardware, software, AV services, and online platforms. You'll learn to respond to incidents, resolve straightforward problems using documented procedures, and escalate more complex issues. A key part of the role will involve assisting in the creation and upkeep of user-friendly IT documentation, ensuring colleagues can effectively utilize IT services. You will also gain experience in implementing University policies on data protection and responsible computer use, maintaining a professional and helpful attitude throughout. Responsibilities include setting up new staff with equipment, assisting with password resets and account unlocks, and participating in public engagement activities.
