About the role
The Apprentice ICT Technician will gain knowledge in and be responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, laptops, AV equipment and peripherals. They will maintain an up-to-date inventory of ICT equipment, assist with the expansion of the Colleges network infrastructure, and perform routine administration including data backups. The role also involves software installation, maintenance, and upgrading, keeping abreast of technological developments, and supporting staff and students with ICT equipment setup. Responsibilities extend to maintaining stocks of spare parts and consumables, providing in-class support, and carrying out other duties assigned by the IT Support team.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths: Grades 9-4 (A*-C), BTEC Information Technology: Pass or above. Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, analytical, logical, team working, initiative, and PC/Web based IT application skills are essential.
