About the role

As an Apprentice Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for supporting the upkeep and presentation of the Oakland International site, ensuring a safe and professional working environment. You will gain practical maintenance skills by assisting with building maintenance, facilities management, and improvements. Key duties include maintaining the internal and external site appearance, supporting routine building maintenance, cleaning and maintaining essential equipment like evaporator fans and refrigeration units, carrying out basic plumbing repairs, assisting with cleaning blocked drains and sewage systems, and completing painting, decorating, and minor carpentry tasks. This apprenticeship offers a broad range of practical skills in maintaining buildings, equipment, and workplace infrastructure, with potential for rewarding career opportunities within the business upon successful completion.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above, along with strong communication, IT, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Physical fitness is also required.
