About the role

P.G.M. CARPENTRY CONTRACTORS LTD is offering a Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship in Chelmsford. This apprenticeship provides an opportunity to work under experienced professionals and learn all aspects of carpentry, from new builds to refurbishments. Duties include understanding drawings, taking measurements, adhering to health and safety, and using various tools and materials. The role involves installation of joists, roofing, first and second fixing, window installation, cladding, decking, kitchen installation, and finals.

Upon completion, apprentices will be fully qualified carpenters and have the option to continue as subcontractors. The training involves attending college once a week for two years to achieve a Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery, followed by a final year as an improver. Functional skills in English and maths may also be included if required. Successful completion of the Level 2 apprenticeship leads to enrollment in a Level 3 Carpentry Apprenticeship.
