About the role

Become a Teaching Assistant Apprentice at Big Creative Academy, playing a key role in supporting students with SEN and Education, Health & Care Plans. You'll provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, promote independence, monitor progress, and champion inclusion across the Academy. Duties include working under the direction of the SENCo to deliver tailored support, encouraging independence and inclusion, providing targeted support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, monitoring attendance and progress for students with EHCPs, and preparing information for assessments. Specific vacancy requirements include experience working with young people aged 16-23 and those with additional needs, an interest in creative arts and sports, and a commitment to promoting equality and safeguarding. GCSE Grade C/4 or above in maths and English or equivalent is required, along with experience using Microsoft Office Suite and student databases.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in maths and English or equivalent. Experience working with young people between 16 and 23. Experience working with young people with additional needs.
