About the role

HERBERT SCOTT LTD is seeking an Apprentice Financial Planning Assistant (FPA) to join their team in Lewes, East Sussex. This client-facing role involves direct involvement in client relationships and case management, with opportunities for career progression to a Financial Planner position. The FPA will learn to support clients, coordinate meetings, prepare for and follow up on client meetings, liaise with product providers, produce suitability reports, and maintain compliant client files. The apprenticeship offers a structured career pathway with comprehensive training, including the Paraplanner and Financial Planner Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard, leading to the DipPFS Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with clients, supporting advisers, and taking ownership of client cases as they gain experience. GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4(C) or above are essential, along with a Level 3 or above in a Financial Related subject. Strong communication, IT, administrative, and problem-solving skills are also required.
