About the role

Our Risk & Compliance team at Howden Re helps the business operate responsibly and with confidence by understanding risks, following industry regulations, and making sound decisions. As an apprentice, you will work on real projects and learn how the team plays a crucial role in protecting our clients, colleagues, and reputation. You will develop an understanding of risk, compliance, and regulations within the insurance and reinsurance industry. Key duties include learning how Howden identifies, records, and manages risks, supporting the maintenance of the risk register, and assisting in reviewing information to identify potential risks. You will also support the team in understanding new regulations, collaborating with specialist teams, and responding to compliance queries. Business-as-usual activities such as compliance training, monitoring, and reporting will also be part of your responsibilities.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English grade 4 and GCSE Maths grade 4. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, problem-solving skills, logical thinking, team working ability, and initiative.
