About the role
This apprenticeship offers a Senior Care Assistant role at Robin Hood House, a residential home specializing in dementia care. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital leadership role, supporting the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in all aspects of home management and care delivery. You will be a role model for best practice, ensuring residents receive person-centred, compassionate care. Key duties include supervising care delivery, leading on residents' individual care documentation, providing training and mentoring to junior staff, administering medication safely, promoting residents' dignity and independence, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with staff, residents, families, and healthcare professionals. The role also involves encouraging residents' participation in activities, supporting families, inducting and mentoring new staff, monitoring performance, and maintaining a positive team environment. Essential requirements include a full driver's license and working vehicle, at least one year of experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant in an older persons' care setting, strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated approach to person-centred care.
