About the role
Dixons Ashton Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to support individuals and groups of children within the SEND department. The role involves assisting with daily care needs, classroom management, and safeguarding. Duties include preparing safe environments, managing accidents, supporting learning activities led by teachers, and contributing to children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. The apprentice will also foster positive relationships with children and colleagues, support play and learning, assist children with disabilities or special educational needs, and contribute to displays. Essential requirements include GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above, along with strong communication, organization, teamwork, initiative, and patience. A good work ethic and confident personality are also essential. Progression opportunities are available for exceptional candidates.
