Nursery Assistant Apprenticeship

About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a nursery setting at Little Jannah Daycare Nursery. You will be supported by experienced room leaders and management, with a blended approach to training, including face-to-face and online sessions. Key duties involve shadowing senior staff, assisting with children's care including serving food and changing nappies, observing development, setting up learning environments and activities, cleaning resources, preparing the garden, conducting risk assessments, and participating in yearly planning. The nursery is a small, family-run business with 9 years of experience, aiming to provide a home-from-home environment. They actively engage with the local community and focus on developing independence and confidence in children. Upon completion, there are opportunities for discussion regarding career progression.

Entry requirements

• GCSE Maths and English (Grades 4-9) and a Level 2 in Early Years or Childcare (Grades 4-9). Essential soft skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administration, analysis, logic, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, patience, and physical fitness.
