About the role

The RAC, in partnership with North Humberside Motor Trades Group Training Association, offers an exciting apprenticeship programme for aspiring roadside patrols and mobile mechanics. You will attend real-life breakdown situations and provide mobile mechanic services, developing a well-rounded skill set. This includes offering roadside assistance, performing diagnostics, carrying out repairs, and communicating effectively with members to get them back on the road. You will also complete services, repairs, and diagnostics at customers' homes or workplaces, gaining diverse experience. A fully equipped, state-of-the-art company vehicle and tool kit will be provided to ensure you have the necessary resources for success and growth. Upon completion of a comprehensive induction programme, your rota will typically involve working on the roadside for 4 weeks, followed by 1 week of training at Motor Trades GTA College in Hull (HU4 7DY), every 4-5 weeks. Once qualified, you'll enjoy varied workdays and have access to ongoing support and career progression opportunities within a large national company.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above, or equivalent. Essential soft skills include communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, analytical thinking, initiative, patience, and physical fitness.
