About the role

Join the RAC's exciting apprenticeship program as a Roadside Automotive Technician! This unique opportunity, in partnership with North Humberside Motor Trades Group Training Association, will train you to become a skilled roadside patrol and mobile mechanic. You'll gain hands-on experience attending real breakdown situations, performing diagnostics, and carrying out repairs. Effective communication with members will be key to getting them back on the road. You'll also complete services, repairs, and diagnostics at customers' homes or workplaces, providing a diverse range of experiences. The RAC provides a fully equipped, state-of-the-art company vehicle and a complete tool kit to ensure your success. This apprenticeship is based in Stockport (SK1 area), and you'll need to live within 10 miles of the postcode.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (Grade 4 or above) and GCSE Maths (Grade 4 or above). Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, analytical, and logical skills are essential. You should also demonstrate initiative, be non-judgemental, patient, and physically fit.
