About the role

The RAC, in partnership with North Humberside Motor Trades Group Training Association, is offering an exciting apprenticeship for aspiring roadside patrols and mobile mechanics. This program goes beyond traditional mechanic training to develop a well-rounded skill set. Apprentices will attend real-life breakdown situations, provide roadside assistance, perform diagnostics and repairs, and communicate effectively with members. They will also complete services and diagnostics at customers' homes or workplaces. A fully equipped company vehicle and tool kit will be provided. Upon completion of an induction program, the rota typically involves 4 weeks of roadside work, followed by 1 week of training at Motor Trades GTA College in Hull every 4-5 weeks.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (grade 4 or above) and GCSE Maths (grade 4 or above) or equivalent. Strong communication, attention to detail, organization, customer care, problem-solving, analytical, and logical skills are essential, along with initiative, patience, and physical fitness.
