About the role

Join the RAC as an Apprentice Roadside Automotive Technician and embark on a unique apprenticeship program. You'll gain hands-on experience attending real-life breakdown situations, performing diagnostics, and carrying out repairs. This role goes beyond traditional mechanic training, developing a well-rounded skill set and excellent communication abilities with members. You'll also complete services and diagnostics at customers' homes or workplaces. The RAC provides a fully equipped, state-of-the-art company vehicle and a complete tool kit to ensure your success. The apprenticeship involves working on the roadside for 4 weeks, followed by a 1-week college placement at North Humberside Motor Trades GTA in Hull every 4-5 weeks. Upon qualification, you'll have access to ongoing support and career progression opportunities within a large national company.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (Grade 4 or above) and GCSE Maths (Grade 4 or above). Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, analytical, and logical skills are essential. Initiative, patience, and physical fitness are also required.
