About the role
This Level 3 Youth Work Apprenticeship with YOUNG GLOUCESTERSHIRE offers a comprehensive training program focused on developing essential youth work skills. The apprenticeship involves mandatory units covering anti-discriminatory practice, engaging and communicating with young people, group work, principles of youth work, reflective practice, safeguarding, and working with behaviour that challenges. Apprentices will undertake a one-to-one youth work support role, manage a caseload of young people requiring support, and complete a Level 3 program relevant to the role. Duties include building relationships with young people and their communities, working confidently with groups and individuals, and addressing practical issues affecting young people. The role emphasizes enthusiasm, integrity, professionalism, and understanding the barriers young people face. Apprentices will support recruitment, ensure young people's voices are heard, provide advice and guidance, build positive relationships with agencies, develop project resources, and support mental health. The position requires regular reporting, risk assessments, and adherence to safeguarding policies, including the use of the Upshot system. This is an in-person role requiring attendance at Gloucestershire locations Monday to Friday.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above, Full UK Driving License.
