About the role
An exciting opportunity to start a hands-on career as a Garage Door Installer Apprentice. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll learn how to install, service and repair a range of residential and industrial garage doors and automation systems, gaining practical skills and valuable industry experience.
Duties include:
* Working alongside experienced engineers to install a range of residential and industrial garage doors and shutters.
* Assisting with the installation of roller, sectional, up-and-over and side-hinged garage doors.
* Learning to install and set up garage door automation systems.
* Assisting with servicing, maintenance, and repair work.
* Safely using a variety of hand and power tools.
* Loading, unloading, and preparing equipment and materials.
* Following health and safety procedures on customer sites.
* Ensuring installations and remedial work are completed to a high standard.
* Communicating professionally and providing excellent customer service.
* Keeping work areas, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and organised.
This is a physically active, hands-on role involving manual handling, lifting, and working on customer sites. Applicants should be comfortable travelling to different locations and with occasional early starts. A full UK driving licence, or actively working towards obtaining one, is preferred. On successful completion, there may be an opportunity to progress into a permanent Garage Door Installer/Engineer role.
