About the role

This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to become an Additional Needs Support Assistant at Millstead Primary School. You will work towards supporting the class teacher, Headteacher, and Governing Body in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, or autism. Key duties include contributing to curriculum planning, assisting in lesson delivery, adapting learning activities, supporting ICT use, providing individual and group support, and liaising with parents and external professionals. The role emphasizes promoting inclusion, teamwork, independence, confidence, and self-esteem among pupils. The school is an OUTSTANDING rated primary school catering to children aged 2-11 with complex needs.

Entry requirements

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4) and strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. A positive attitude, patience, initiative, and a friendly, caring, and nurturing demeanor are essential. Passion for education is also required.
