About the role
This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, or autism at Springwood Heath Primary School. You will work closely with the class teacher, Headteacher, and Governing Body to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key duties include supporting curriculum delivery, adapting learning activities, assisting pupils with ICT, providing individual and group support, encouraging communication, promoting inclusion, and fostering independence. You will also assist with lesson planning, monitoring pupil progress, preparing resources, completing administrative tasks, and liaising with parents and external professionals. Ensuring pupil safety and welfare, including personal and hygiene support when needed, is also a core responsibility. Springwood Heath Primary School has a strong enhanced resource provision for pupils with SEND, particularly those with significant physical difficulties, and is committed to personalized learning pathways and specialist support. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above. Essential skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, administration, analysis, logic, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, patience, and a passion for education.
