About the role
Escomb Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young children in a primary school setting, focusing on Key Stage 1 & 2. The apprentice will support qualified teachers by planning and delivering learning activities, assessing pupil progress, monitoring pupil responses, and assisting with social and emotional well-being. Duties also include supervising children, contributing to the school's ethos, acting as a role model, and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. The role involves assisting class teachers with daily tasks, attending staff meetings, participating in CPD, liaising with parents and outside agencies, and potentially supporting breakfast or after-school clubs. A significant part of the apprenticeship involves attending Bishop Auckland College one day per week and completing coursework on time. This apprenticeship provides the skills needed to work as a Teaching Assistant in any educational establishment upon qualification. The school offers education to children from nursery to Year 6. Employment is conditional on successful DBS and reference checks. A short work trial may be part of the recruitment process. Access to own transport may be necessary due to the location.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above, strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, numeracy, teamwork, creativity, initiative, non-judgemental attitude, and patience.
