About the role

This Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Regency High School, offered by INSPIRE ATA LIMITED, is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the classroom teacher by providing high-quality, personalised learning and care. Your responsibilities will include supporting pupils' learning, development, confidence, and independence, both in the classroom and the wider school environment. You will offer tailored support to individuals and small groups, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), physical, emotional, and additional learning needs. The role involves assisting teachers with lessons, literacy and numeracy activities, assessments, and individual learning programmes. You will be expected to encourage pupils through positive reinforcement and patient guidance, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their potential. Monitoring and recording pupil progress, identifying concerns, and sharing observations with teachers and relevant professionals are also key aspects of the role. Furthermore, you will support positive behaviour, help children develop their social, emotional, communication, and self-help skills, and adapt/prepare learning activities and resources. You may also be required to support children with personal care, mobility, feeding, and other welfare needs, in accordance with school procedures. The apprenticeship will also involve implementing programmes recommended by professionals such as educational psychologists and speech and language therapists, and promoting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment while adhering to safeguarding and health & safety procedures. Collaboration with teachers, parents, colleagues, and external professionals is essential to ensure consistent support for pupils. The role also includes assisting with PE, swimming, educational visits, group activities, and everyday classroom routines, all while maintaining a positive classroom environment that fosters independence, self-esteem, curiosity, and a love of learning.
