About the role
Action for Care Ltd is seeking an apprentice for a Level 2 Adult Care Worker position. The role involves providing high-quality care to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Behaviours that Challenge, and complex needs in a residential setting. Key duties include ensuring high standards of professional care, attending to physical, cultural, social, emotional, educational, and recreational needs, participating in care planning and reviews, administering medication as prescribed, acting as a Keyworker, promoting effective communication, maintaining accurate case records, contributing to staff training, assisting in the overall running of the home and community contact, and carrying out other required duties. Desirable qualifications include relevant NVQs/Diplomas, knowledge of Learning Disabilities, Autism, Behaviours that Challenge, residential care, Person Centred Planning, Health and Safety practices, and a full driving licence. Essential requirements are good verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to promoting quality of life for individuals with Learning Disabilities/Autism in the community, basic First Aid knowledge, medication knowledge, understanding of Equal Opportunities, and domestic skills including housekeeping, healthy eating, cooking, and finance.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grades 4-9 (A*-C) are desirable. Communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, teamwork, initiative, patience, and caring attitude are essential.
