Apprentice CAD Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice CAD Technician to join our growing transport and civil engineering team at VELOCITY TRANSPORT PLANNING LIMITED. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to start your career in infrastructure design, gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills alongside experienced engineers on live UK projects. You will be involved in producing technical and presentation drawings using CAD software, supporting the design of highways, drainage and infrastructure improvements, and learning essential skills in preparing highway layouts and site access strategies. You'll also undertake site visits, surveys, and technical assessments, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and developing knowledge of engineering standards and BIM principles. This apprenticeship leads to a recognised qualification and offers potential progression onto planning and engineering roles.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 5+. Five GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 4+. Desired: A-levels, BTEC or equivalent in Design, Maths, Engineering, Geography at grade C-A. Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
