Apprentice Energy Technician

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Building Energy Experts, an award-winning sustainability consultancy, as an Apprentice Energy Technician. You'll gain hands-on experience helping improve the energy performance of homes across the UK while working towards the Energy Manager Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Duties include air tightness testing, Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), retrofit assessments, ventilation testing, cavity wall inspections, building performance surveys, and collecting/analyzing energy performance data. You will also carry out tests on new-build properties, support assessments and inspections, collect building information, use specialist software, work safely on sites, travel across the UK, and build relationships with clients. You will learn about energy tariffs, data analysis, heat loss, electrical systems, HVAC, water management, and carbon reduction strategies. The program is delivered over 13 months with remote and workplace training. The End Point Assessment includes a technical report and presentation, and an interview with a portfolio of evidence.
