About the role

This Apprenticeship is for a Groundworker, focusing on construction site preparation and foundational work. The role involves clearing and tidying sites, digging trenches, setting up safety barriers, and interpreting drawings. You will also be involved in laying pavements, kerbs, driveways, and operating machinery like excavators and dumper trucks. The apprenticeship includes an 8-week pre-apprenticeship program at CETC, which covers CSCS card acquisition, a Brickwork Level 1 Certificate, and H&S training. Following this, you'll have paid work experience before commencing the full 18-month apprenticeship. The apprenticeship program leads to a Level 2 Groundworks qualification, along with Functional Skills in Maths and English. Training is delivered by South Hampshire College Group with block release attendance at CETC campus. Upon successful completion, there's an opportunity for a full-time permanent position with Carlton Civil Engineering, a company with a strong history in civil engineering and a commitment to employee development. Candidates should be physically fit, able to work in various weather conditions, and ideally possess a driving license. Areas of work will be in the PO and SO regions.
