About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work with a high-trained professional team in our Early Years Department. If you have a passion for working with children and want to make a positive impact on their development, this apprenticeship could be for you.
Key duties include supporting pupils with learning activities, promoting inclusion, assisting with behaviour management, monitoring and recording pupil progress, and supporting their social and emotional development. You will also assist with practical tasks such as preparing resources, administering medication (if agreed and in line with policy), and supporting pupils with eating, dressing, and hygiene, all while encouraging independence.
The role also involves supporting the health, safety, and welfare of children in EYFS/KS1, providing basic first aid if appropriate, managing classroom stock, and supporting learning through play and planned activities. You will work under the guidance of a teacher and collaborate with other staff, parents/carers, and external agencies as needed. A willingness to undertake pupil record keeping and assist with educational visits is also required. This apprenticeship offers a rewarding experience working within a primary school setting.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Essential skills include communication, IT, organisation, customer care, presentation, number skills, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, and patience.
