About the role
The Learning Support Assistant apprentice will work alongside teachers and school staff to support students with their learning, wellbeing and personal development. Duties include carrying out welfare and wellbeing check-ins with students, supporting teachers during lessons, monitoring punctuality and attendance, carrying out uniform checks, checking student work, providing 1:1 and group sessions, helping students stay focused and motivated, providing additional support to students with learning, behaviour, or wellbeing needs, building positive relationships, communicating concerns, and maintaining a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment. The role requires adherence to school safeguarding, confidentiality, and behaviour policies. This is a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English Grades 4-9 (A*- C) desirable. Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, customer care, presentation, administrative, and team working skills are needed, along with initiative, creativity, being non-judgmental, and patience.
