About the role
This Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship at Forget Me Not Day Nursery in Sherborne offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to the high-quality education and care of young children. As a key person, you will work under the guidance of nursery nurses and managers to provide a safe and nurturing environment. Duties include assisting with curriculum planning based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), planning daily activities, acting as a key person for a group of children, building strong relationships with parents and carers, and ensuring each child's individual needs are met. You will be involved in teaching children, providing appropriate play experiences, and adhering to all safeguarding and child protection procedures. The role requires active participation in team meetings, supervision, and appraisals, as well as a commitment to personal development and ongoing training. You will also be responsible for understanding and adhering to all nursery policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, equality, health and safety, and safeguarding. Candidates must be willing to learn, committed to obtaining a Level 3 qualification in Early Years, and possess a developing knowledge of child development from birth to five years. Essential skills include knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, good communication, an understanding of play-based learning, and a commitment to promoting safeguarding and equal opportunities. A friendly, flexible, and "can-do" attitude, along with strong teamwork skills, is essential.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above.
