About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a skilled Steel Fixer with KILNBRIDGE STRUCTURES LTD. As an Apprentice Steel Fixer, you will learn to assemble and erect steel components crucial for reinforced concrete structures like bridges, culverts, and power stations. Your responsibilities will include setting out work areas according to engineering plans, using hand and power tools to cut and bend steel bars and mesh, and tying steel reinforcement bars to construct cages. You will typically work within a larger construction team, interpreting contract information, drawings, and specifications to ensure correct component assembly and installation. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, numerical ability, initiative, and physical fitness. Upon completion of your Level 2 qualification, there are opportunities for progression to higher levels, potentially leading to supervisory or management roles within Kilnbridge. The apprenticeship is for 1 Year 6 Months, with a starting salary of £16,640 to £26,436.80 per year. The minimum age for this role is 17 due to site restrictions.
