About the role

This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in property maintenance and carpentry within a skilled team. The program is designed to provide a strong foundation in the profession through practical learning and increasing independence. Over the course of the apprenticeship, you will progress from working under instruction with general guidance, learning to anticipate tool needs and perform labouring tasks, to carrying out tasks with greater independence and becoming competent with hand tools. By the later stages, you will be able to perform observed tasks independently and will be sent to site to work on more complex projects as part of a team. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, organization, customer care, problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, team working, initiative, physical fitness, and the ability to drive. The apprenticeship includes one day a week at SBC Training in Shrewsbury and four days a week on-site.
