About the role

The Eskdale is seeking an enthusiastic individual to train as a Commis Chef. You will join a supportive, owner-led team in a good working environment and be encouraged to contribute your own ideas. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Commis Chef qualification, learning essential kitchen skills from fully trained chefs. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients (vegetables, salads, fish, meat), making sauces, soups, and dressings, cooking and plating meals, knife work, following recipes and menu specifications, shadowing head chefs, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, preparing pies, bread, lasagnes, and desserts, and understanding allergen awareness. You will also assist in ensuring catering facilities comply with Food Hygiene and Safety Legislation. This is a fantastic opportunity to embark on a culinary career.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 2 or above, along with strong communication, organisation, customer care, and teamwork skills.
