About the role

This is an opportunity to work in a busy NHS dental practice in Ashton, Preston. Your role as an apprentice dental nurse will be to support the dentist in all aspects of patient care and reception duties. Duties include preparing instruments, mixing materials, ensuring patient comfort, and assisting with reception work such as booking appointments, taking payments, administration tasks, and greeting and reassuring patients. The practice has over 70 years of trusted patient care, is predominantly NHS, and has a friendly and supportive team. Training will be delivered through a combination of practical learning in the dental practice and off-the-job training with Preston College, with ongoing support and assessment.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths grade 3 or above. Desired skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organization, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, number, analytical, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgmental, patience, and punctuality.
