About the role

This apprenticeship is ideal for someone with some prior knowledge and experience within a nursery or school setting, and especially someone passionate about childcare and early years, looking to further their career. You will be providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun, supporting children's learning and development, including supporting planning and observations. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children, preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea, and supporting children's self-help needs. You will need to be creative, enthusiastic, and follow safeguarding rules. The role also includes undertaking First Aid training and any other training as appropriate to meet any changes in standards or legal requirements, and ensuring all health and hygiene requirements are adhered to. Upon completion, you will develop into a Level 3 practitioner with the potential for a permanent position. Career progression can lead to roles such as social work, teaching, or management.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above, strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, non-judgemental attitude, and patience.
