About the role

GESTAMP TALLENT LIMITED is offering a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, Toolmaker pathway, for an enthusiastic individual to start their career in engineering and manufacturing. The apprenticeship will be delivered over 3-4 years, with the apprentice attending In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge 2.5 days per week for the first 14 months, and the company for the remainder of the time. Daily tasks will involve laser cutting, tool maintenance and repair, working on hydraulic and servo powered presses, and using a 5-axis CNC machine. The company is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of metal automotive components, committed to innovation, quality, and continuous development. Upon successful completion, there is potential for full-time employment and the development of valuable transferable skills.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths at grade 9-5 (minimum). GCSE English at grade 9-4 (desired). IT skills, attention to detail, organization skills, problem-solving skills, number skills, analytical skills, logical thinking, teamwork, initiative, and an interest in engineering are essential.
