About the role

Are you passionate about supporting young children and helping them develop a lifelong love of learning? Our Early Years Educator Apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a primary school setting while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will support children aged 3 to 5 in their learning, development and well-being within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will help create a safe, stimulating, inclusive and nurturing learning environment, and assist in planning and delivering engaging activities that support children's development across all areas of learning. You will encourage children's communication, language, social and emotional development through meaningful interactions and play-based learning, and observe, assess and record children's progress under the guidance of experienced practitioners and teachers. Support children in developing independence, confidence, resilience and positive behaviour, and build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. Assist in preparing learning resources and maintaining an organised learning environment, and support children with additional needs to ensure they are fully included in all activities. Uphold safeguarding, health and safety policies and procedures at all times and contribute to the school's Catholic ethos and values through kindness, respect and inclusion. Take part in training, mentoring and professional development opportunities throughout the apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grades A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent. Desired skills include communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, and patience.
