About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a curious and passionate individual to embark on a career in software engineering through a degree apprenticeship with THALES UK LIMITED. The role is based in Templecombe and offers a blend of academic study and hands-on experience. As a Software Engineering Apprentice, you will develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours necessary to become a proficient engineer. You will support the delivery of software solutions, working with experienced engineers on live projects, and contribute to system design, software development, project reviews, and problem-solving. The apprenticeship combines on-campus teaching, distance learning, and online workshops with practical workplace experience, leading to a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions and a Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship upon completion. Due to the nature of Thales' work, all roles are subject to strict security requirements, including UK Government security checks and nationality restrictions.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 9-4 (A-C), and A-Levels in any subject at grade B or above.
