About the role
Oaklands School is seeking compassionate and proactive Apprentice Teaching Assistants to support pupils with complex SEND. The role involves working alongside class teachers and therapists to deliver personalized education, promote communication, independence, and emotional well-being. Full training will be provided, including interventions, communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, AAC, visual schedules), and therapeutic approaches like the Zones of Regulation. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, safeguarding, and contributing to EHCPs and behaviour support plans. The apprenticeship offers ongoing training and development opportunities within a warm and friendly environment.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
