About the role

This role will provide efficient and reliable chairside support to clinicians while ensuring high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance. Day-to-day Dental Nurse duties may include welcoming patients and assisting with appointment scheduling, handling basic patient enquiries professionally, preparing surgeries, sterilising instruments, and maintaining infection control. You will assist clinicians during treatments, accurately update patient records, and support patients' comfort. The role involves monitoring and managing stock, equipment, and surgery readiness, maintaining clean and safe clinical areas, and upholding patient privacy. You will collaborate with dentists and the wider team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality care. Essential requirements include GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C, along with strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, teamwork, and patience skills. You will also need to be non-judgemental. As part of the apprenticeship, you will undergo a DBS check and require Hep B vaccinations. Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship, and there are clear progression routes within the dental sector.
