About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship for a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, provided by City & Guilds. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a dental practice, assisting dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and supporting patient experience. Key responsibilities include chair-side support, patient interaction, appointment booking, stock management, and maintaining a clean clinical environment. You will work alongside experienced staff and develop new skills. Upon successful completion, career progression opportunities include moving into management roles, or further training to become a dental therapist or hygienist. Essential requirements include GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above, along with strong communication, customer care, administrative, and team working skills. Applicants must also be willing to undergo a DBS check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccination.
