About the role

An exciting opportunity for an apprentice dental nurse to join a friendly practice in Banbury. This role involves providing chairside support and a high level of oral health care to patients. The apprenticeship offers ongoing support, development, and training to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to qualify and have a successful career in dental nursing. Daily activities include assisting the dentist, providing patient care, setting up and cleaning the surgery, sterilizing instruments, updating patient records, maintaining equipment, and preparing instruments and materials. You will learn practical skills on the job, with theoretical learning provided online through Aspiration Training, including regular teaching and 1-2-1 sessions. Off-the-job training will be provided during paid working hours. This apprenticeship is designed to teach the knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary for competency in clinical duties such as infection prevention, first aid, oral health, various dental treatments, health and safety, and more. Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to register as a dental nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC).

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths grade 4-9. Communication skills, attention to detail, customer care skills, initiative, and patience are also essential.
