Apprentice Educational Support Assistant

About the role

Begin your journey in education with this Level 3 apprenticeship, working with teachers to support pupils’ learning. You will gain experience supporting individuals and small groups, helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is a great start to a career in education, with support and development opportunities.

Duties include supporting the class teacher, working with pupils to reinforce learning, managing classroom behaviour, preparing learning materials, assisting pupils with additional needs, supervising pupils during breaks, supporting reading, writing, and numeracy, maintaining a safe classroom, recording pupil progress, and carrying out basic administrative tasks.

Upon successful completion, you may progress into a permanent Teaching Assistant or Educational Support Assistant role, with potential to develop into specialist roles or progress to a Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification and role.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, presentation, administrative, number skills, teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgemental, and patience.
