About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in dental nursing, provided by City & Guilds. The role involves assisting dentists with chair-side duties, sterilising and preparing equipment, and managing reception tasks. You will also be responsible for dealing with patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and supporting patient wellbeing. The apprenticeship aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge to provide effective patient care within a dental practice. The position requires candidates to be 19 or above due to insurance restrictions. Upon successful completion, career progression opportunities include roles like team manager, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are desired. Patience and a non-judgemental approach are essential.
