About the role
Join Transport for London (TfL) as a Level 3 apprentice on the London Underground Escalators program. This 3-year apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing vital escalator and lift assets across the London Underground network. You will be exposed to various aspects of engineering, including heavy refurbishment and inspections, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of one of the world's busiest transport systems. This role requires dedication, with flexible working hours that may include early, late, night, and weekend shifts. Upon successful completion, you can progress to roles such as Fitter 2, Fitter 1, Team Leader, and potentially Area Manager, with opportunities for further technical and soft skills training. Many senior leaders at TfL started their careers through this apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
- Minimum of 2 GCSE's A*-C/ grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English language. Must be 18 years old by 7th September 2026. Not eligible if currently undertaking the same Apprenticeship Standard.
