About the role

This 12-month, government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma course, in partnership with City & Guilds and Harriet Ellis Training Solutions Limited, offers hands-on experience in a dental practice setting. You will gain essential skills in assisting dentists, sterilising equipment, reception duties, and enhancing patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing chair-side support, managing reception tasks, handling patient queries and payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, ensuring patient wellbeing, managing stock, and cleaning dental areas. This apprenticeship is an excellent stepping stone for a career in dentistry, with potential progression to roles such as Dental Practice Manager, Dental Therapist, Dental Hygienist, or Orthodontic Therapist. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, administrative, and teamwork skills, along with GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
