About the role

Embark on one of the world's top apprenticeship schemes with the Royal Navy, focusing on Weapon Engineering. This accelerated program offers continuous training and development, valuable for both your Royal Navy career and future civilian employment. You will learn how machinery works, repair equipment, fabricate components, utilize essential tools and techniques, and adhere to safety procedures. Take responsibility for crew safety, maintain and operate complex communication, sensor, and weapon systems, and work with sophisticated electronic equipment. This role involves daily equipment checks, problem-solving, and ensuring ship operational readiness.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Mathematics and English and at least one Science: GCSE Level C/4 (Essential). Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience. Option 1: National Qualifications Framework Level 3 Diploma (with a minimum of a Merit Pass) in an engineering discipline. Option 2: At least 48 UCAS points in A-levels (or equivalent) in Mathematics and a STEM subject.
